Garden Day. Weather perfect. Some surprises...a poppy opened, a visit from Mr. Chippy which Jack (cat) the Ripper is loving. Birdhouse is from Iron Kettle Farm.

IF: Adapt

"...Faust had a different take: throughout his life, she said, Lincoln adapted to his surroundings, rather than withdrawing. Noting his changing attitudes toward military service and religion, she said Lincoln “was a learner—he continually evolved.”
Drew Faust, Harvard Magazine,Who Was Lincoln, Really, Feb 10, 2009

Sweet Green Inspiration

With all the rain, the garden is brimming with new sweet green in every shade. Apples, lemons, peas, winter savory, garlic, leeks, lettuce, spinach, arugula, strawberries, tomatoes (more varieties than I have room for) basil, lemon thyme, lemon verbena, parsely, cucumbers, butternut squash, zucchini and even a tuscan melon. There's a lot of inspiration here...just deciding what to do first....love the sweet pea...

love and celebration

It is a slippery slope for graduates today. Thankfully, jobs are had and plans have been made... for this family anyway, for now...good luck to all.

Experimenting with space

Experimenting with space...took the photo of the trees last winter and pasted down a recent line drawing and wash of dog... Then into PS for cutout effect. The photo ends but I inked in the tree trunks below the photo margin...

making space

It was time to do a little spring cleaning in the studio...just needed to find the desk. Have you been to Camilla Engman's and Elisabeth Dunker's shared studio violet? I love checking in on them to see what they are up to...their studio is light-filled and spacious. Here is another interesting idea for a studio....made in New Zealand!

More Inspiration: NYC Views

NYC is always a much needed jolt of energy and it is always a study in contrasts. View from inside the Boathouse Restaurant in Central Park. You can take little boats out on the small lake and paddle around. These folks were getting a closeup view of the turtles sunning themselves on the rocks. Charming....all grist for the mill...
