The objects and piles of things in the new space

The sculpture is of my father. My handmade paper is

Twins

Just found out there will be another set of twins in the family!! It seems, Chance is everywhere.
Another chance,... this bicycle may be the future of urban transportation. It has won lots of awards. Very cool. My friend, Julie Dermansky is working on a book about the five months she spent as an embedded photo-journalist in Iraq. Her new studio is in the Lower Garden District, New Orleans.

making space

It was time to do a little spring cleaning in the studio...just needed to find the desk. Have you been to Camilla Engman's and Elisabeth Dunker's shared studio violet? I love checking in on them to see what they are up to...their studio is light-filled and spacious. Here is another interesting idea for a studio....made in New Zealand!

Mav's Letterpress

Today I received Mav's exquisite letterpress 2009 calendar. It is very simple in its design. Her online shop will be closing on December 17. You can read more about Mav and her interests and other projects here. She works out of her small studio in Portland, Maine.

Inside Day

Made a few new notecards with handmade paper (seaweed, linen, artemesia, iris, and cotton) and two print gocco cards under Jack's supervision...Cards will be available soon. Swedish artist Camilla Engman has a new studio and shop and blog. If you are a dog lover (especially labs) you will like this site. Rick Ladd's bottle-cap baroque is amazing folk art.
